The first step toward having your vision corrected is to schedule an evaluation with an ophthalmologist who specializes in LASIK. Many doctors may charge for this evaluation; however, when you "Find a Doctor" on the next page, you may find one who offers free evaluations or screenings in your area.
The doctor will examine your eyes to ensure they’re healthy and stable. He or she will also ensure you have no health conditions that could hinder your visual improvement.
The doctor will also recommend the best refractive procedure for your vision condition — as well as the outcome you can expect. Of course, you’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you have.
By the end of the evaluation, you should have all the information you need to decide whether or not you’d like to go forward and have your vision corrected. If you do decide to go forward, the next step would be to schedule a date for your procedure. If you decide not to go forward, that’s fine, too -- there's no obligation.
